Harvest Display Tray

This week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart is to make a home decor item.  I love the display trays that Close To My Heart debuted in the Autumn/Winter 2012 catalog, that I had to try one out.

My kids love riding on the combine with my dad during harvest, so I thought I would make a tray for him.  What do you think?

It was very fun to put together.  There is burlap ribbon attached to the hangers at the top, but it didn't show up in the picture.  I didn't make the tray as elaborate as some I've seen - I'll have to try another one sometime!

Materials used are Close To My Heart unless otherwise indicated:

Papers:  You and Me (retired); John Deere paper from Creative Imaginations
Chocolate cardstock
Whisper cardstock
Slate, Chocolate and Goldrush inks
Stamp sets:  Cherish the Day (retired); My Farm (retired)
Embellishments:  burlap ribbon, Durables Round Studs, John Deere stickers and brad from Creative Imaginations, wheat from the field

Cocoa, Anyone??

This week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart is anything "cocoa" themed, whether it be the beverage, color, etc.  I thought I would share a hot chocolate pouch that I made for a craft show I participated in at the beginning of December.  Fortunately, (or unfortunately) they all sold and this is the only photo I have of it.  It isn't a good image as it doesn't show the true colors of the paper that I used.

I got the pattern from Paper Crafter's Library.  I believe it was from one of their 12 Weeks of Christmas Patterns that was sent to their subscribers.  (I can't find the pattern on their blog so it must have been for newsletter subscribers only.)

Materials used (all CTMH unless otherwise noted):
Twilight cardstock
Wonderland Paper (retired)
Wonderland WOTG stamp set (retired)
A Sip stamp set (retired)
Silver ribbon (from my stash)

Ok, it's been a really, really long time since I have posted anything to my blog.  Blogger has changed since I last posted that I have to figure out how to post items again!

Here is a layout I created that my gals will be making at an upcoming workshop later this month.  It features the beautiful Avonlea paper.  I love the teal paper that comes with this pack.

I am entering this layout in the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for the week of January 7.  Their theme for the week is "Snow Much Fun".  Click on over and see the other "snowy" ideas!

Other items used in my layout include the following:

Stamps:  Flakey Friends, All Decked Out (retired)
Embellishments:  Stardust Glitz Glitter Gel, Twilight Markers, Ruby Markers, Clear Sparkles, Bitty Sparkles, Houndstooth Alphabet, Twilight Ink

New Product Blog Hop

Tresa Black is hosting a blog hop on her Fabulously Artsy blog that features projects using new products from the CTMH Autumn/Winter Idea Book that is live today.  I thought I would play along and share a card I made using several of the new products.

My favorite new product (so far!) from the new Idea Book has to be the Cricut Art Philosophy Collection.  I love that certain stamp images correspond to various shapes on the Cricut cartridge so I don't have to cut each image by hand!  The leaves and the sentiment were cut using the Cricut, and then I stamped right on them - no cutting required!!!  I also used the Cricut to cut the border.

All products used are CTMH and are listed below:

Paper:  Chocolate cardstock, Colonial White cardstock, Dreamin' Level 2 paper pack
Ink:  Chocolate, Goldrush
Stamp Set:  Harvest Happiness
Embellishments:  Bronze Glitz Glitter Gel, Antiqued Copper brads, Cricut Art Philosophy Collection

If you are interested in purchasing any products from the new Idea Book, you can click here or on the link on the right side of my blog.

I hope you enjoy looking at all of the fabulous artwork you see along the hop.

Cricut and Close To My Heart!

Wow, it's been a crazy few months!  I was busy with the boys' baseball games, end of school activities, summer vacation, CTMH Convention.....But now I'm back and full of great news for all you CTMH and Cricut lovers!

Introducing the exclusive Close To My Heart Cricut® Art Philosophy collection! CTMH has worked with Provo Craft* to bring you a Cricut® cartridge filled with 700 shapes hand-selected by company founder and CEO Jeanette Lynton. Simply insert the cartridge into your Cricut® electronic die-cutting machine (sold at retail stores) and you’re ready to cut any of the shapes with the touch of a button! Choose from stunning rosettes, unique gift boxes, elegant doilies, crafty banners, and more. The exclusive images are incredibly versatile, and many are designed to be used with specific My Acrylix® stamps for real eye-popping power!

When you purchase the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge package, you’ll also receive three exclusive D-size stamp sets and three sets of Dimensional Elements designed to perfectly coordinate with images on the cartridge. That’s a retail value of over $120 for just for $99! Stamp on your Cricut shapes; cover your Dimensional Elements with a Cricut shape; or cut, stamp, and then cover!

Numerous My Acrylix® stamp images in the new Idea Book  pair wonderfully with images on our Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge. When you see the Cricut icon or a stamp image outlined in red in the Idea Book, you will know there’s a matching shape on your Art Philosophy cartridge. Cut out the coordinating shape with your Cricut machine using the setting indicated on the stamp’s carrier sheet, then stamp your image on the base shape—quick and easy!

Here is a card I made using the new cartridge.  Although it looks big in the picture, the card is only 3 1/4" x 5".  The instructions are located in the booklet that comes with the cartridge.  It was so fun to make, I can't wait to work on other projects!

The new Art Philosophy Collection will be available August 1.  Get yours then by clicking here or on the Shop with Me link on the right.
